Words from Our Chapter Founders

- Krishna Kant, Founder, PPGS UIT Burdhwan

The Public Policy and Governance Society in our college is a unique and exciting opportunity for students interested in the dynamics of governance, policy-making, and leadership. The enthusiasm to join the society is appreciable, as it stands as the only one of its kind in our college. This sets it apart from all other clubs and societies, making it a highly sought-after platform for those who wish to explore real-world issues and contribute to meaningful change.

While we encountered some difficulties along the way, particularly in the initial stages of organizing events and engaging students, we faced these challenges head-on. With a strong sense of unity and determination, the society members worked tirelessly to overcome these hurdles. The learning curve was steep, but it made us more resourceful and better equipped to handle future challenges.

As a result, the society has grown stronger, and our work is more effective and refined than ever before. The hurdles we faced have only made us more resilient, improving our teamwork, planning, and execution.

- Rehan Shariff, Founder, PPGS VVCE

The Public Policy and Governance Society (PPGS) at Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering (VVCE) was founded with the vision of fostering awareness and engagement among students in the realms of policy and governance. The journey began with a collaborative effort involving PPGS IIT Kharagpur, whose mentorship and guidance were instrumental in shaping the society's framework. After securing approval from VVCE's administration, we laid a strong foundation, meticulously planning the society's structure, objectives, and initiatives to ensure its alignment with the aspirations of our student body.

The establishment of PPGS VVCE is a transformative opportunity for students, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to navigate complex societal challenges. By participating in discussions on public policy, governance frameworks, and global issues, students develop critical thinking and analytical abilities that are essential in today's dynamic world. The society's diverse activities, including policy simulations, leadership workshops, and interactions with experts, provide a platform for experiential learning. These experiences not only prepare students for competitive exams like UPSC but also enhance their confidence, communication, and problem-solving skills, ensuring they emerge as informed and responsible leaders ready to make a tangible impact on society.
